This project is located in Zhanglan, Fuzhou, a village with rich cultural and historical background and a unique natural environment, which is called "Banyan Town".

Its owner hopes to create a "unique" sales office integrating experience and display. Our plan was inspired by the ancient Confucian Temple and banyan roots in Fuzhou. The architecture combines historical and natural contexts: the aesthetics of classical Chinese architecture, and the hazy space surrounded by the roots of banyan trees in nature. In terms of our architectural concept, we extract the images of "double eaves" and "cornice" of ancient architecture, and abstract them into geometric language of modern architectural design. The grille skin of the building is like roots of banyan trees, and the vanishing interface blurs the boundary between the building and nature to some extent.

The building consists of three floors, with a glass box in the middle, extending from the first floor to the third. On the second floor we interweave a cantilever volume, using metal grille as double skin design, creating a hazy, light-and-shadow grey space; the facade is in slight contrast to the transparent glass box. Looking through the grille into the transparent glass box, the building also has a hazy oriental beauty of "half-masked".
